Programme: Human and energy security in Libya
The Institute for Islamic Strategic Affairs (IISA) has initiated a process on a framework on human and energy securities in Libya.
The stalemate surrounding the political negotiations in Libya, with its serious humanitarian and economic consequences, is the background motivating this three-year project aimed at developing a framework to move towards greater security in the North African war-torn country.
The IISA led process is more participative and inclusive than previous attempts as it aims to bring all key actors to the table to discuss strategic and less provocative issues starting with human and energy security.
The process aims to bring together highly experienced field professionals, well – connected to their constituencies, trust-building meetings. Our hope is that this project will lead to a semi-permanent forum on Libya and compliment UN efforts in the country.
